Craigslist Cravings: Nifty Bedframe.

I really like the look of the bedframe.  Big, chunky, rustic.  The headboard needs to be a bit different for my taste, but I wonder if I could craft a similar frame for myself, and add a chunky headboard to match.

Craigslist Cravings: Huge Retro Couch.

This couch is (a) huge, (b) a bit gaudy, (c) unique.  I could see it painted a dark color so that you just get a hint of the embellishments, but it gets toned down a few notches.  It'd be a one-of-a-kind kind of couch I'd say.  It's clear over in California, so perhaps a west-coaster would be interested in it.

Craigslist Cravings: Hereford Piglets.

Via Craigslist.
My husband is 100% against any form of porcine coming onto our property.  I, on the other hand, would love to raise some pastured hogs some day.  Hereford hogs would be a part of my breeding program.  As with my goats, I'd create a cross-breed that would be perfectly bred to thrive on our land.  Now, to just convince my darling husband of how great of an idea it would be.

Craigslist Cravings:

Image via Craigslist Ad.
I love Craigslist with a passion.  You just never know what you're going to find.  This morning I'm wishing my husband didn't hate pigs because I do believe a couple of these gilts would start off my pastured hog project rather well.  They are part Red Wattle Hog and part Blue Butt (which is usually just a Hamp/York Cross).  So, they have the wattles, but have a red with black spotted rump.  Sigh, someday.  I figure when I have a bit more land (almost twenty acres isn't enough) I can put them in the farthest pastures without much of a qualm from my significant other.

I'm sure not everybody dreams of having pastured pigs, but this girl sure does.

Craigslist Cravings: Retro Chairs

These would be swell recovered and situated around a game table.  At $25 each they are a steal too.

Craigslist Cravings: A Couch to Paint.

I'm wanting to find a couch like this one:
Via Craigslist.
And paint it so it looks like this one from Design*Sponge.

I'm thinking perhaps a mossy green.

Craigslist Cravings: Kitchen Sink.

Via Beech Grove Craigslist.
This beauty is almost exactly what I'm looking for.  I want the double drain-boards, but I'd really like a double sink as well.  For $75 OBO, though I may be persuaded to stick with a single sink.

Craigslist Cravings.

This set of caneback chairs was for sale in Terre Haute, but I didn't contact the lady first, so I lost out on them. I loved the lines of the legs and thought they'd look awesome redone to match my someday reclaimed wood dining table. I was pretty bummed, but then I came across another set. They are very similar to the above set, but the lines aren't as nice. They are a bit simpler, but the basic style is there. I'm supposed to go down and pick them up Saturday evening. The second set also comes with a dining table, which we really don't need, but I think we can make it into something neat.

What are your thoughts?

Craigslist Cravings.

A dresser in Ellettsville for $75. I like its lines. It would look great in my closet. It's fun to window shop, but I hope when it comes down to buying furniture for our house I'll be able to find all this great stuff again.

Craigslist Cravings.

A nifty little secretary desk/hutch for sale in Bloomington for $100. If only I had money to spend, this would already be in the back of my truck heading for my house.

Craigslist Cravings: Thomasville Chair.

Granted, it may be hideous when you see it in person, but I really like the way it looks. I even like the stripe colors. They are asking $150 which I imagine it's worth, although I'd much rather pay less than $100. I'm sure one will cross my path someday that is similar to this and I can nab it for less. Here's the link if you're interested.

Craigslist Cravings: More Piglets.

Yeah, I've got pigs on the brain here lately. I'd love to raise a couple, but it's going to be a few years before that becomes a reality. When I do, I'm going to create a cross-bred that (a) works great on pasture, (b) is un-aggressive, (c) is wildly colored (just because), (d) has delicious meat quality, (e) can handle farrowing/raising piglets well. These piglets were in Ames, IA, and appear to have a few of the qualities listed. Sigh...wonder when I'll get to start my pig raising experiments.

Craigslist Cravings: Red Wattle Piglets!

I wish I was heading to Missouri. They are in Hermann, and will be weaned the second week of April. They are only asking $80 a piece which isn't too bad for Wattles. I'd like to try them as pastured pigs someday...hopefully I can find a buy this good then!

Craigslist Cravings: Wood Cabinet with Drawer and Sliding Doors

This was in the Indianapolis Craigslist Furniture section for $50 bucks. I think it would look stunning refinished or even painted and used in a dining room as a mini-buffet or at a doorway as a place to dump your junk. I really like it.

Craigslist Cravings: Nightstands.

These nightstands were on Bloomington's Craigslist for $50 for the set. I think they could be really stunning refinished. Soon enough I'll be able to jump on these finds and put them in my freshly renovated home!
