Real Estate Hankerings: 1208 S 17th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana.

If you've read my blog for long, then you know I am a sucker for architecture.  One of my ways of getting my "house fix" is by perusing the real estate sites and looking for diamonds-in-the-rough that I can daydream about fixing up.  This one is a 1919 model that has especially cute details.  All images via Realtor.com.

Wouldn't it look wonderful polished back up?  I really like the windows and the wood floors.

Real Estate Hankerings: A House for My Sister.

My sister lives in Indianapolis. Whether she believes it or not, she needs to move from the big city with her kids and find a place in the country to raise them. I'm slightly biased about rural living. Anyway, there is a property in Elnora that would house her brood rather comfortably. It's a 5 bedroom, 1 bath farmhouse. It probably needs a bit of work, but for the price I would think it could be turned into a super-nice farm.

It has outbuildings, but the listing doesn't say what size the lot is. I imagine some of the farm ground around it could be bought to add to the property. It looks as if there is plenty of open land around the house.

The property is located at 11616 N. 275 E., Elnora, IN 47529. They are asking $48,300, and I'm curious what the house looks like on the inside. It's got lots of potential just from the pictures to me.

Real Estate Hankerings: New Found Website Love: Sotheby's International Realty.

Do you ever drool over real estate? I do. And usually I don't care if it's a run-down shack or a mansion I'll find merit in it somewhere. Well, I happened to see an ad on the side of the page of an article I was reading. It was for Sotheby's International Realty. Holy Cow--big price tags, but amazing architecture. Take, for example, this Belgium Beauty of a castle. You can have it for about 8.5 Million dollars. I'm in love with all the amazing houses I've looked at so far. It's neat to see what's available all over the world.

Real Estate Hankerings.

This property is in San Marcos, Texas. Yeah, a bit of a drive from my Indiana home, but it caught my eye right away. I love Texas. It's my favorite state I've been to so far. I could live there pretty easy. This house sits on 26 acres and it just so dang cute.

Real Estate Hankerings.

This week's real estate is in Bloomington, Indiana at 2412 E 4th Street. It's got 3 beds, 1 bath and no true 'walls.' It has really cute kitchen and living areas. I personally thought it looked a bit like a chicken house, which was why I was attracted to it. It's very cute, but alas, I'll never live in town. I wouldn't mind picking it up and putting it on about fifty acres though. Image via Realtor.com.

Real Estate Hankerings.

This property is located at 5455 E High School Road in Butlerville, Indiana. The asking price is $24,900 for a 3 bed, 2 bath, 3,784 square foot home on an acre of land. If it was sitting on about a hundred acres with a few more outbuildings this would be my heaven. I love the porches. I hope somebody brings this one back from ruin into its original glory. Beautiful house.

Real Estate Hankerings.

This property is in Arcola, IL for 49,900. It's 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, and almost 3,000 square feet. It needs lots of work, but there are a lot of beautiful features on the inside.

Real Estate Hankerings.

I can't believe what you can get for just a little money and some work. This property at 515 Washington Avenue in Evansville, Indiana features 6 bedrooms, 4 baths, and is 3,151 square feet for only $32,000. What an amazing piece of architecture. Sigh, yet another place I'd love to save.

Real Estate Hankerings.

I'm a sucker for old houses. I want to save every last one of them. Look at this beauty: a 3 bedroom, 1.5 bath, 2,461 square foot relic built in 1890. They want $28,900 for it, and it would make an amazing house. It looks like there used to be a porch on the front, and I think there should be one on there again.

Real Estate Hankerings.

This cute bungalow is at 842 Bellemeade Avenue in Evansville. It has 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, and 1,269 square feet. It was built in 1919, and I think it would be an adorable first house. I love the architecture.

Real Estate Hankerings.

This house is located at 1114 N Third Ave. in Evansville. It has five bedrooms, 1.5 baths, and 2,322 square feet. It was supposedly built in 1899, and it has very unique architecture. I especially like the little building behind the house. It would make a neat bed and breakfast.

Real Estate Hankerings.

This property has really nice big windows that let in lots of light, and with some work I think would make a lovely house. I could think of lots of things I'd like to do with it. It could be a real beauty. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, and 1,390 square feet for $17,000.

Real Estate Hankerings.

This week finds a big diamond in the rough. It's at 215 Adams Ave. in Evansville. It's listed as a 2 bed, 1 bath home with 1,284 square feet of living space. I like it for the concrete block outbuilding (I'm thinking it would make a good studio), and the beautiful windows in the second story. It could be a real looker with a bit of love and work.

Real Estate Hankerings.

This property is located at 302 Waggoner Avenue in Evansville, IN. It's a 3 bedroom 1 bath 1,258 square foot home. The curb appeal potential is very high. I think it is really cute.

Real Estate Hankerings.

This week's real estate is in Evansville, Indiana. I'm sure it's in very rough condition. They have it listed at $2,500 for a 2 bed, 1 bath, 911 square foot home. I like the exterior, and I would like to have the money to bring it back from the condition it's in. Maybe someday I can do that as a hobby.

Real Estate Hankerings.

It's places like these that make me wish I had unlimited resources. What a beauty and it will no doubt be bulldozed. It is located at 4347 E Broadway Rd in Salem, Indiana. The house has 3 beds and 1 bath on almost an acre of land for $25,000. It definitely needs work, but what an incredible old house. It was built in 1908 and I'm in love.

Real Estate Hankerings.

This property is on a tiny lot as far as the listing said, but it is in Tunnelton, Indiana. It is a 3 bed, 1 bath home with over 1,400 square feet of living space. It looked pretty rundown, but I liked the exterior and I think it would make a neat home with some elbow grease.

Real Estate Hankerings.

This week's find would be an ideal rental because it's in Terre Haute near the University. It's on a small lot, with 3 bedrooms, and 1.5 baths. It's decently sized at 1,114 square feet, and needs some spit and polish, but I bet it'd be an easy turn around.

This cute little blue house is in Sullivan, Indiana. Four bedrooms, one bath, 2,200 square feet, a quarter of an acre, and only $17,750. It had plenty of potential, but needed a lot of work just the same--in other words, my kind of house. Hopefully somebody like me finds it and makes it into a nice home.

Real Estate Hankerings.

This week's Hankering is a Sullivan, Indiana home located at 333 W Graysville Street. The picture listed isn't a great one, but I like the giant windows on the porch, and the mature trees. The house is large at 2,064 square feet with 3 beds and 1 bath with .22 acres for a lot. I would potentially stray away from my white house beliefs and make this one light yellow or a pale blue or green--it seems to need color. Curb appeal-wise this has a ton of potential.
